Utopos is situated on Roennfeldt Road, perched on the northern end of the ironstone ridge that boasts some of the Barossa’s most renowned vineyards, including Torbreck’s Laird, Two Hands, and Greenock Creek. Located at an elevation of 315 meters above sea level, it stands as one of the highest points on the valley floor. The vineyard straddles the boundary between Greenock and Marananga, with three distinct aspects to the block: east, predominantly planted with Shiraz; north, featuring Cabernet Sauvignon; and west, home to Grenache and Mataro vines.
Kym Teusner began his journey far from the world of wine, growing up as the son of a sheep farmer. He moved to Adelaide for university, working in restaurants and discovering his passion for wine. With a desire to follow his heart, Kym returned to university to study winemaking, embarking on a path that would lead him to become a respected figure in the wine industry.
