Mornington Peninsula, VIC
Port Phillip Estate, situated on the Mornington Peninsula, is a distinguished producer specialising in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris wines within Australia’s renowned cool-climate maritime region. Their commitment lies in cultivating the highest quality fruit that genuinely reflects the unique terroir of each vineyard. Embracing sustainable viticulture, they prioritise the health of their vineyard soils to ensure wine excellence. In the winery, their philosophy revolves around preserving the inherent characteristics of the fruit, resulting in expressive wines with intricate details and structure that reflect the vineyard site and season. Employing low-intervention practices, they allow spontaneous fermentation with native ambient yeasts, including malolactic fermentation. French oak is exclusively used for barrel-matured wines, both red and white, and all wines are left unfined and unfiltered.
After a tenure at Oakridge in the Yarra Valley, winemaker Tim Perrin takes the helm at Port Phillip Estate (and Kooyong) in Mornington Peninsula. With an already distinguished career, he excels in crafting outstanding chardonnay and pinot noir. Tim’s visionary leadership is set to elevate these esteemed wine estates to new levels of excellence, delighting wine enthusiasts with his exceptional creations.
