Abruzzi, Italy
i Lauri wines are a testament to the vineyard's commitment to both tradition and innovation in winemaking. Situated in the picturesque region of Abruzzo, Italy, i Lauri has become a distinguished name in the world of boutique wines since its establishment in 2001. The vineyard's unique approach involves identifying and cultivating different "goldilocks zones" in the Tavo Valley, allowing for an optimal growth environment for both native and non-indigenous noble varietals. This careful selection and planting strategy is complemented by a profound understanding of the estate-vineyards' ripening processes and their interactions with the local climate. By embracing open-mindedness, creativity, and active listening, i Lauri stands resilient against homogenous production, offering wines that are rich in character and true to their terroir.
Antonella and Rodrigo envisioned a piece of land here in Loreto Aprutino, where they could further plant their cultural roots with a vineyard, an olive tree orchard and a home. In 2007 they harvested their first vintage. Today, they source grapes and olives from leased properties in three distinct villages.
