Plush and ripe on the nose and in the mouth with Blackberry richness tempered with a mineral-savoury like tone. This Shiraz is a handsomely proportioned wine, abundant in flavour concentration. The tannins and acid bring structure and freshness to the pure fruit flavours that drives down the length of the palate, and returns balance across the whole mouth-feel and weight – making this a lighter wine than the nose suggested.

MEET THE WINEMAKER: Kym Teusner

A man known for setting his own path and leading from the front of his team, Kym Teusner brought Common Ground to life (and to the table) as an approachable step between his top-flight vineyard-expressive Utopos releases, and the internationally renowned grower-based Teusner wines.

Common Ground

Barossa Valley, Australia

A suite of wines produced from fruit grown on the Utopos Vineyard on Roennfeldt Road with a little help from neighbours that occupy soil types that are common to their own. These wines, while Barossan in their overall flavour profile, are stylistically distinct from the other Utopos vineyard-sourced wines made by Kym. They have an immediate freshness and approachability in their palate weight and richness while retaining the unique savoury characteristics afforded to the fruit by the special terroir of the vineyard's site and location on the Western edge of the Barossa Valley.
