A high-toned, intensely focused shiraz, the syrah soubriquet spot on. Black and blue berry fruits are moulded together with a splash of spice and peremptory tannins.

‘Hand-picked from the 'home' Breachley Block; whole-bunch pressed, settled overnight, thence to French puncheons (30% new) for primary fermentation. Once complete, mlf was allowed to proceed until 25-30%. Occasional bâtonnage followed until October, bottled November. A wine of elegance and purity, reflecting the perfect vintage conditions. It has white stone fruit, green apple, a gentle thrust of pink grapefruit, and creamy cashew, all coalescing on the long, lingering finish.’
